Marburg, Jul 7th, 2015 – VI-grade, the leading provider of best-in-class products and services to bridge the gap between real world testing and technical simulation, today announced that Hyundai Motorsport (HMSG), the company responsible for Hyundai’s global motorsport activities and primarily for its World Rally Championship programme, adopted VI-CarRealTime and VI-Driver, VI-grade’s flagship solution for automotive real-time simulation, to optimize the dynamic performance of their race cars.
“VI-CarRealTime and VI-Driver will enable us to improve the racing performance of our cars for the World Rally Championship programme” says Bertrand Vallat, Chief Designer, Hyundai Motorsport. “We are looking forward to being even more successful in the WRC thanks to the usage of these powerful simulation tools.”
“Once again, we are proud to report another success in the motorsport industry,” says Guido Bairati, International Sales Director of VI-grade. “We are looking forward to supporting the success of this team that joins today the community of our customers belonging to the racing industry.”
About VI-CarRealTime
VI-CarRealTime provides a vehicle simulation environment where the same simplified vehicle model can be used by vehicle dynamics and controls engineers to optimize vehicle and control system performance. The product enables engineers to perform quickly and easily large Design of Experiments (DOE) and multi-objective optimization studies. VI-CarRealTime is the only real-time solution available in the market that can export automatically and seamlessly a real-time vehicle model directly from ADAMS/Car. Similarly, VI-CarRealTime also enables to share component property files such as tires, springs, dampers, and bumpstops with ADAMS/CarTM. VI-CarRealTime provides validated models, which can be used by controls and hydraulic engineers to optimize the controller design based on accurate vehicle performance. VI-CarRealTime can be integrated with Matlab Simulink for controls systems.
About Hyundai Motorsport
Established on 19 December 2012, Hyundai Motorsport GmbH (HMSG) is responsible for Hyundai’s global motorsport activities and primarily for its World Rally Championship programme. Based in Alzenau, Germany, the company has established Hyundai’s return to WRC with a bespoke team of skilled staff – constantly developing the WRC-specification of the Hyundai i20. The total facility of 8.200m² is split into office (2.125m²) and workshop (5.878m²) space. An area where 120 employees develop and support Hyundai’s entry in the WRC. The workshop is divided into 10 assembly bays. With engine workshop, sub-assembly areas, electronics, body shop, stores, design-office and administration area leaving nothing to be desired. The factory is also fully fitted and operational with quality control, engine dynamics and suspension test bench -offering ideal premises to set-up a WRC team. 50 km from Frankfurt international airport and convenient motorway connection provides easy access to key suppliers within Continental Europe. Close to other Hyundai facilities, like Hyundai Motor Europe (HME) in Offenbach and Hyundai Motor Technical Centre (HMETC) in Ruesselsheim makes Alzenau the perfect location for Hyundai Motorsport.
